Oxford

Oxford is a historical city with a population of over half a million people, situated in the central south of England. Oxford is known for its grand historical architecture and its seats of learning. Oxford has many museums and galleries to stroll around during a traditional day out in the English country. Oxford is home to the oldest public museum in England, the Ashmolean Museum, which houses a fine collection of archaeological artefacts from around the city and the country. Even though Oxford is a busy city it still keeps many green parkland spaces open for the public to enjoy. One of the most famous sites in Oxford is Christ Church College which has very impressive church spires. Oxford Christ Church College is also famous in modern times for the Harry Potter films as much of the interior was used. Oxford is also famous for being the place to visit Blenhiem Palace, which dates back to 1705, which is owned by the 11th Duke of Malborough and is also famous for being the birth place of Sir Winston Churchill.
